Stainless steel bar grating is a useful choice where corrosion resistance, washdown performance or a durable uncoated finish matters. The selection should start with the service environment, then continue with the clear span, bearing-bar direction, load and opening requirements.
Start with the exposure and panel layout
Indoor washdown areas, chemical splash zones and coastal installations can require different material grades and finishing expectations. A panel can have the right material but still be unsuitable if its bearing bars do not span between the supports. Show support lines and walking direction on the drawing so the load path is clear.
Details that prevent fabrication rework
Identify cut-outs, edge banding, removable areas, lift points and fixing method before fabrication. For mixed-metal installations, confirm that clips and adjacent steelwork are suitable for the chosen stainless grade and site conditions.
